11 Students Plotted To Kill Third-Grade Teacher

WAYCROSS, Ga. -- Eleven students got together and plotted to kill their teacher, even going so far as to bring handcuffs and a knife to school, Waycross police said.

One of the teacher's relatives said each child at Center Elementary School in Waycross had a job to do, including one assigned to wipe up the blood.

The plot unraveled over the weekend when a student tipped off police, Local 6 reported.

School officials said they never imagined that some of the 8- and 9-year-olds boys and girls at the school would think of bringing physical harm to a teacher, WJXT reported.

"A plan had been developed amongst several of our third-grade students to allegedly do harm to their teacher," said Theresa Martin, of Ware County Schools. "It's shocking that they would think of this at their young age. I think that is probably the most shocking part for all of us," Martin said.

In addition to the knife being found, the school officials said other students had duct tape, handcuffs, ribbon and a heavy crystal paperweight.

The police chief in Waycross said that he believes the plan may have been developed because one of the students was punished with some sort of time out. However, that theory remains under investigation.

"I can't believe that -- because he's a third-grader. You know, I cannot believe that. Especially, for here," said parent Doris Rowland.

The children could face expulsion and criminal charges pending the investigation.

What the ###### is wrong with kids.. The only thing I can pinpoint it down to is what they watch and the lack of parental supervision. This glorification of violence and death clearly allows these kids to think it is all a big game. How else would a kid think of assigning somebody to "wipe up the blood".

The children should not face ####. The dumb ### parents are the ones who should face charges. Parents who are first to show their dumb face on TV when they feel their precious little baby has been wronged, true or not, but last when it comes to disgusting stuff like this.

Children without a Conscience

In a study of eighty-one boys in a residential treatment program, symptoms of aggressive conduct disorder, along with lying and stealing, were predictive of adolescent psychopathy in those aged 14 to 17. In other words, if they had a conduct disorder and also had acted in some antisocial manner, it was more likely than not that they were psychopaths.

In another study, the two factors in young offenders indicative of psychopathy were impulsive conduct problems and callous attitudes. These children develop attitudes of grandiosity and they shun responsibility. They're also susceptible to boredom.

In a long-term study, children with psychopathic personalities were shown to be stable offenders (having more repeat offenses), were prone to instigating the most serious offenses, and were more impulsive.

To sum this up, childhood psychopathy has proven to be the best predictor of increased antisocial behavior in adolescence, especially in boys who were hyperactive, impulsive, and suffered from attention deficits.

Common traits in the background of psychopathic children include:

a mother exposed to deprivation or abuse as a child

a transient father

a mother who cannot maintain stable emotional connection with child

low birth weight or birth complications

unusual reactions to pain (especially to insult)

lack of attachment to adults

failure to make eye contact when touched

low frustration tolerance

sense of self-importance

transient relationships throughout childhood, or close association with another like him

cruelty toward others

animal abuse

lack of remorse for hurting someone

lack of empathy in friendships

How does this apply to kids who kill? How do they get this way? Is it something in their environment, something in how they were raised, or something in their genes?

Some psychologists claim that it's mostly learned through cultural images and role models.

EXACTLY!!!!! Last week when I dropped off my daughter at school I had one of her classmates more less get in my face with her little finger saying "Zoey told me you don't let her watch Michael Myers or the chainsaw movies....my momma let's me watch them!" (My daughter is 7) I said...well first of all......I'm not your momma, I'm Zoey's momma and her momma isn't letting her watch anything that will corrupt her. Her teacher kinda winked at me. I'm sure I'll get a phone call from that momma soon.

Just from what I see at my sons and daughter school is that soooooo many parents are just lazy. They don't want to sit down with their kids and help them with homework, they don't want to do anything with them. Just plop them down in front of their babysitter.......the T.V or the Wii

Just blows my mind. I would have never thought of killing my teacher when I was in 3rd grade let alone even know anyone that would plot it out!

Definitely right there. I am sure any teacher you ask will back that. Technology is actually creating, programming, a whole generation of self-centered, un-compassionate, materialistic dimwits.

At that age they are still trying to understand and comprehend reality and the world. Kids should never watch those sort of films at such a young age. It would be interesting to see how a child ends up who has ,from a very young age, only watched horror and terror films. And boy are they bringing those films out faster than fries at McDonalds.

Why would a child want to watch that type of film in the first place ? I remember when I was 8,an older cousin who was supposed to be watching me,brought me along on his date to the movies.Of course it was a scary movie,I had nightmares for months.
