In a previous thread (in the K1 forum) I saw information relating to tracking movements between NVC and Embassy. Well, I used this info to check when a package (our I129F) left the NVC bound for the US Consulate in Johannesburg. Found out that it was received on 31 March. Just got off the phone with the US Consulate, spoke with a friendly gentleman who was busy with our case at the time of my call. I collect packet 3 on Thursday this week (2 April). I'm thrilled!!!!!!

Hello Sarah Jane

Your posts always make me smile :-) Girl, I'd miss winter anyday if it meant I get to be with my guy. Besides, our first wedding anniversary is coming up (14 July) and, God willing, I want to be over there by then. Question: Where in the US will you be?

Don't worry about the name thing, I get confused myself at times :jest:

Just Sarah is fine .... I'm going to be in Atlanta, on the opposite coast to you, but the world is very small at times, so we'll probably meet up at some point if we keep in touch.

So, it's April 1st today and your wedding anniversary is in July, personally, I wouldn't be surprised if you're there. However, you could always see if Nick could call your Embassy and see if they can give you an early appointment for interview via the military channels .... we were given that info by the Military Immigration Helpline, or even speak to the guy at NVC again and see what he can do.

Apparently as military folk (according to the helpline) we can get faster appointments when we ask.

What do the appointment times look like for your country ? is there a South African forum where the info is posted?

Do you have the info for your medical and what will be required? are your shots all up to date? Have you got your police certificate?

Not sure if all of this info appertains to the K3, but I'd get in there and make sure you've got everything in order (which I'm sure you've done).

Please let us know how it goes. You must be so excited!!

I'm praying like crazy that you'll be there in a matter of weeks.

Sarah x

I'm not sure about the appointments and timelines for the embassy here, will be looking into that or just ask when I go to collect packet 3 on Thursday. I've checked the medical info on this site, went through all the forms, did a trial run with my GP just to be sure, so yip, I know what is expected and what info to produce. My shots are up to date but I don't have my innoculations card (still have the marks on upper arms though :-) Anyways, if I have to get those again, will just have to. I applied for all documentation in November last year (unabridged birth certificate, police clearance, etc.) so all those are in tact.

Thanks for the prayers, will pass the information on to Nick (re: calling embassy)

God bless,

Nadia
