My case is out of the California Center..

I look at the web site and for a K1 Visa it says Sept 9 2007. What does that mean? Does that mean they are only working on K1 Visa applications submitted on Sept 9th. Or.. does it mean they are granting Visa's for people that submitted applications on Sept 9th?

In either case.... that is 7 MONTHS ago!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is going on there?

In my Case.. They received the K1 on JAN 4 2008 ... and gave me a notice on Jan 7 2008. I have not heard from them since.

Can someone "Guess" for me what my time line would be?

Thanks!

Ours was approved 127 days from receipt. We did not hear anything from them either within months our application was received. You may get approval any time of May (without RFE). Just a guess. Good luck!

If you complete your timeline - you will see a real-world 'guess' as to when your case might be adjudicated.

The processing date(s) on the USCIS website represent the oldest cases they are currently 'working on.' You'd think it might be better to show the most recent dates, but what will you do?

JohnIrish,

I never received any touches from the CSC (Cali. service center).

To give you an estimate, we sent our I-129f petition into the CSC on November 1st. They received it on the 7th or 8th of november, I received my NOA 1 on the 10th or 12th.

I then received my NOA 2 on March 10th, so about 4 months after I sent it in. Then from there they sent it to the NVC which has been taking a long time as of late, although I can't complain too much. They sent it out of the NVC and to the embassy in Bangkok on March 26th! So hopefully that will give you a small idea. If you need more timeframes, look on this website. Look at individual members who are going through the country you're going through. See how long it takes them. Keep in touch with January filers who filed the same time as you.

Be patient, you filed only about three months ago, and to be honest with you, the CSC takes longer than VSC because more cases go through their offices. But it goes by a lot quicker, and remember you're not the only one going through this, so take the time to contact other people who have filed the same time as you, keep in touch with them, update them on if your receive any "touches" from the csc, etc., and good luck!

Published processing dates are the dates of the oldest petitions USCIS are currently working on. These dates are wildly inaccurate. The only purpose they really serve is to give you the ability to start tracking your case if you filed before that date. For instance, your congressperson will only investigate on your behalf if this date has come and gone on your petition.

Or.. does it mean they are granting Visa's for people that submitted applications on Sept 9th?

USCIS does not grant visas. Only the State Department (via the consulates) can grant a visa. USCIS approves (or rejects) your petition for a visa before sending it on to Department of State.

Can someone "Guess" for me what my time line would be?

As someone else pointed out, fill in your timeline for a better guesstimate. Instructions in my sig if you need them.
