Is it best to have an attorney for filling out all the forms needed to emmergrate or does it not really matter?

I ASK THIS QUESTION BECAUSE I READ THAT THE USICS look for something to be wrong on the forms in order for them to deny the visa??

also what is the best option to be with the one you love! K1 visa then get married on this or the k3 and the IR-1 /Cr-1 so get married then do this option! or is it the direct consular filling option!!

we want to find out which is the quickest way to get together so we can start our new life together!

I would have said no until the Embassy interview. There we met a couple who had submitted their paperwork with no errors in August of 2006. The fiancee was telling him that he should have hired an attorney when she found out we had submitted 14 months later than them and arrived the same day for interviews. So perhaps our attorney was worth it.

You may want to take a look at the UK timelines to determine what is fastest. Generally the K1 is fastest because in most cases you can file it right away.

As for using an lawyer, we used the guidelines here on VJ and had no problems. Most people on here have. Even if you decide to use an lawyer, they cannot guarantee that you will get the visa. Unless you have some kind of complication with your situation, you can fill out the forms and submit all the documents yourself. Just make sure to check and double check what you fill out.

That being said, if you do decide to use an attorney, make sure they are a qualified immigration lawyer.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do :)

Lawyers are not able to do much with the normal delays in the system and delays are common. I would say that if there are no complications to your situation and you understand what the forms are asking for then you probably don't need an attorney. There is a lot of help on this site and I have found Nolo's book on Fiance & Marriage Visas useful.

What visa is the fastest? If your embassy allows the direct consular filing option then that is the fastest. Usually, the US citizen needs to live in the country before you can use this option.

After that, the fiancee visa is the fastest. See: http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/faqs/...a_iv.html#iv031
