Oddly enough, typing "infopass" into Google brings the page up as the first result.

;)

Yes, but when stressed and worried sometimes the mind does not think clearly - sometimes one just needs to be told the answer.

ihateemo,

the first thing I did was google. But instead of just typing in the one word "infopass" I typed in "How to make an infopass" I didn't think to use just one word. But Thanks.

Then reason we need the infopass appointment is DH has not received his NOA/extention letter so we need to get the stamp in his passport. I am at the infopass site & I'm not sure which option to choose:

You need Service on a case that has already been filed

or

You need information or other services

Could I get some opinions please?

Thanks again,

Mitzi

Service on a case already filed... then the option that says you are a new permanent resident and have not got your card yet (that will get you a stamp appointment - it's not quite right, but it gets you to see the right person)

We couldn't find the right category, since he isn't "a new permanent resident that didn't get his card yet". I think we picked the "other" option, something generic and more generalized. Is this going to be wrong and make the infopass appointment a waste of time?

I really don't know.

It may still be ok... as long as the location you get sent to also does the stampings it should be ok, and there should be a way to get to see the right person - they will usually re-ask your reason for being there when you first check-in at the reception desk anyway - you can give a clear explanation at that point.

But since the purpose of the "new permanent resident that didn't get his card yet" appointment is a combined status check + passport stamp... it would at least guarantee the right kind of appointment :)

Ok, well we may have to change our appointment day, and if we do, I will select what you mentioned. If not, I will report back on how it goes. Cleveland is a small office, so I don't think it would be that difficult to get someone that does the stampings (I think). We only have the one location downtown that does everything in one building (the biometrics is on another floor though).

The correct option for a stamp is "You are a new Permanent Resident and have not yet received your Permanent Resident Card." If you select that, you will then read "If you need evidence of your Permanent Resident Status, please press 'Continue'." That's precisely what the stamp is.

Meh

Yep... exactly.

The wording of the option is not the correct situation, but it does get you to see the right area.

Yes, I see that now. We did end up rescheduling the day so it's filed as the correct appointment type now.

Thank you!
