My fiance do not want his parents to know that he is getting married. (Well I am kinda against it, but as of now, I can't do anything. So I just need an advice about my question.)

My fiance is the beneficiary on his mom's health insurance, and also his mom's auto insurance. If he is going to get married without telling them, will there be a problem with insurance policies? He is planning to get his own insurance policies when we get married anyway.

This is in U.S.

I am sorry but I am totally ignorant about this. Insurance is really a big issue in U.S. eh?

I don't think he'd still be considered a dependent once he's married. I know with health insurance you usually have to be a dependent if you're over 18. Some policies extend beyond that.

I guess it really depends on what they consider "dependent." Maybe that can extend to married children.

Once he marries you, he will no longer be covered under his parents health or auto insurance.

Most states require auto insurance if you want to drive a car. Health insurance is not required, except in Massechusets. But considering the costs of a medical emergency, you want to make sure you are covered.
