Question regarding AOS Initial Interview

Hi everyone,

I just received a mail from USCIS requesting me to appear for Initial Interview. Is this Initial Interview the intervew where they would grant me the Conditional Green Card? I'm just confused because of the word "Initial".

02/24/06 Sent my application to Chicago

02/26/06 USCIS received my application

03/02/06 Receipt date on NOA for I-130,I-131,I-485,I-765

03/08/06 Touched I-130,I-131,I-485,I-765

03/21/06 Biometrics appointment for I-485,I-765

03/22/06 Touched I-485,I-765

04/06/06 Touched I-130,I-131

04/26/06 Notice date of the mail regarding appointment for I-485

06/15/06 Appointment for I-485/AOS Initial Interview

I haven't been to any interviews yet but from what I've read on the forum so far, there's only one AOS interview where your green card gets approved.

That's the standard laguage - we had the same. And Vinay they do inrterview some people more than once - they reserve their right to do so by calling it 'initial' interview. I read just 2 or 3 weeks ago of a Pakistani couple who had to undergo a second interview and then there's the 'stokes' interview also (do asearch and see what it means) but for 90-95% people there is just one interview. We had the same (Initial Interview) and yes, interview date came up so quick for us.

I had the exact same concern and question when I first received my interview notice and was advised that "initial interview" is standard wording. Don't worry, you should be fine!!!
