Stimulus Payment Schedule:

Find when your payment is due by using the last 2 numbers of your social security number.

If you filed your taxes using direct deposit:

00-20 May 02

21-75 May 09

76-99 May 16

If you filed your taxes through the mail:

00-09 May 16

10-18 May 23

26-38 June 06

39-51 June 13

52-63 June 20

64-75 June 27

76-87 July 04

88-99 July 11

So, those that have a SSN ending in 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 that have not filed w/ direct deposit are not getting any stimulus payment? Lucky me that I used direct deposit... :P

Those who have not filed with direct deposit with SSN ending 19-25 are also getting stimulus payment. Check it here:

Last two SSN digits Payments will be mailed by:

00 through 09 May 16

10 through 18 May 23

19 through 25 May 30

26 through 38 June 6

39 through 51 June 13

52 through 63 June 20

64 through 75 June 27

76 through 87 July 4

88 through 99 July 11

I don't get how it works for couples. If you file jointly, do you get a joint refund? And then whose SSN do they use to determine when they send it?

Economic stimulus payments will be issued according to the last two-digits of the main filer's Social Security number.

There's a main filer? I guess that's Rey and we'll be in the first batch.

So the minimum is 300 per person, right?

I'm only slightly confused because it says filed by "direct deposit" Well, we aren't getting a refund, so no direct deposit, but we ARE filing online, probably this weekend. Either way, most of it will be used for vacation, which isn't until mid-July, so it doesn't matter if we get it later rather than sooner. Yes, nothing like jumpstarting the economy of a foreign country....w00t!

I think as long as you filed with the direct deposit option.. even though you aren't getting a refund...

gotcha...

If i filed using Ahmed this year, i wont get one,(right?) because hes still in Morocco :crying:
If you filed jointly and opted to treat him as a resident alien for tax purposes (better option in many cases anyways), then you should be getting it. As I understand it, only non-resident alient filers or joint filers with a non-resident alien won't be eligible.

Well, if one files jointly and his/her spouse does not have a valid SSN, he/she does not get any stimulus payment.

Then one should weigh the various options of filing. As long as the foreign spouse is expected to get a SSN in 2008, the credits can be claimed with the 2008 tax return - or so the IRS website says. In that case, at least the money ain't lost.

Wow. This stimulus thing is really stupid. What's it going to get us, groceries for a month? Probably not even.

If you shop at Whole Foods, it won't even get you groceries for a day. :crying:

Yeah, we spend about 30 dollars a day (sometimes each) and we mostly shop at D'Agostino's and West Side Market (probably a west side thing, heh). Yesterday I bought two bottles of Poland Spring bubbly water, a Diet Dr. Pepper, 2 sugar free Red Bulls, a jar of pickles and a magazine. 30 effing dollars! It's like no matter what you buy, it comes out to 30 dollars.

The stimulus payment is determined based on 2007 tax return. No one knows, if Fed will do the same for 2008 tax return. I am talking about stimulus payment.

Like everything, it depends on where you live. Our "stimulus", allegedly, will be $1200 or so (joint filing, plus one spawn). That's almost a month's wages for many jobs around here. Considering that there aren't any taxes on it, it IS a month's wages for a lot of people. To put it into perspective, $1200 would buy groceries for me, Jordan, and Mags for 2.5 months. Or, it would pay ALL of our household bills for 1 month.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Yes, that is right. I am the money will be helpful more or less. You should get $1500 (married joint return plus one child, $1200+$300).
