ANY STORIES!!

from canada to usa .....how tough or easy was it,in US do we have to deal with immi ppl once we enter or just clear customs in canada itself.i know its silly question.

ciao and thanks

Here's the list of Preclearance Locations in Canada. Once you clear them there's nothing you have to do in the US. I found the Toronto Pearson immigration guys that I encountered to be pretty miserable.

I went through the Vancouver airport...

I got there first thing in the morning around 5 am... the line up was huge already but it went through them pretty quickly and when I got up to the person I handed over my envelope and said I wanted to activate my visa.. they then sent me over to immigration and I waited maybe 5 minutes before they called my name... they guy I got was in a bad mood or something.. I guess it came up on my file that I had attempted to cross over a few years back and failed because this guy said something like "so you were planning on moving to the US" ... I got scared because I though he wasn't going to let me through but he went about his stuff.. he had to ask another guy a few things but it went pretty smoothly... although he was a grump the whole time...:P he took my fingerprints and snapped my pic and stamped my passport and I was on my way....

they didn't even look through my luggage when I went through customs....

I flew through Calgary when activating my K-1, and have flown through Halifax since then using GC or GC/extension letter. I have had no problems in either airport.

You clear everything in Canada, and from that point on it's like you're on a domestic flight in the US.

I flew through the Toronto airport and it was a living hell. It was a bad day to begin with. Air Canada's site crashed and that threw everything off. I ended up being at the airport over 12 hours with my 4 year old son. Going through Immigration was painless. I had a nice gentleman and was in and out within 5 or 10 minutes. There has been times when I traveled to the USA before I got my visa and had a hard time going through customs. It depends on the officer and what kind of mood they are in.
