Who can be the co-sponsor?

Ok.. I have a question...

I am the one who lives overseas.. and my boyfriend the USC lives in the US. I am not sure if he makes enough money to sponsor me since he is in college.... but can a co-sponsor be anyone? Cuz I ve lived in US before and I have a close friend... well actually she is like a second mother to me...anyways.. I am thinking about her being the co-sponsor ... is that ok? or does the co-sponsor has to be somehow related to my USC fiance?

If she can be the co sponsor.. she makes really good money.... but she is self employed... what kinda documents do self employed people need to get.. cuz she cant get for example a letter from the employer

Any US Citizen who meets the income requirements can co-sponsor.

What about if the co sponsor is self employed? what do they need to gather?

Doesn't have to be a US citizen, can be an LPR.

Does have to be someone who the consular officer feels comfortable will live up to the obligation (the consulate in the Philippines is notorious for this).

Any US resident can be a co-sponsor if they meet the income guidelines. For evidence, she would need tax papers for the past 2-3 years.
