what to do with I-94 when travelling with greencard

I am not sure if I post this in the right section, so please move this if it is in the wrong place...

In June I am going to travel overseas. I have my greencard but still have my i-94 in my passport. What do I do with it? Take it out? Let the guys at the airport take it out like before?

And it's correct that whenever I return to the US, I don't have to get a I-94 anymore?

Can someone answer this for me please? THANKS!!

My wife's interviewing officer took it out when she was approved. But I'd probably wait and let the customs officer remove it since it doesn't hurt anyhow. No you won't get another I-94 when you return, I believe you can get into the citizen's short line at the airport as well.

I wouldn't worry whether they take it or don't take it, Nane. My I-94 was not removed from my passport when I was exiting and entering the country with my greencard. And, no, you will not receive an I-94 when you have your greencard. Have a great trip!

If you were approved and have a green-card, you no longer need the I-94 card, you can discard it. Also when you do travel abroad and the return to the USA as a green-card holder you DO-NOT have to fill out another I-94. I-94 is only for NON-Immigrants, or NON-Residents.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

In my wife's case since the interviewer didn't take it out, it was still in her passport. The lady at the port of departure - Delta airlines took it out. So, make sure they do take it out when you are leaving - but I do not believe it makes any difference. Have Fun
