I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else. When I first moved down here I was amazed at how inexpensive items were. But i'm sure that's because I grew up in Canada where the prices are higher (bc of exchange rate) and 15% overall tax on a purchase. Now I'm a borderline shopaholic.. lol okay not a shopaholic but I love to shop more than i ever did before! Moreover, i'm buying all this designer stuff! I guess a perk to this is my hubby usually knows what I want. Gotta love/hate Juicy Couture. I think advertising works down here! Am I the only one?

July 3, 2006 emailed CSC again, no response given in the allotted 60 days time frame.

October 13, 2006 Immigration Interview - Need to return with Long Form Birth Certificate

October 13, 2006 Long Form Birth Cert ordered with expediated shipping

October 18, 2006 Birth Cert Received

October 19, 2006 2nd Immigration Interview - APPROVED

5-20 business days for the Green Card to arrive, maybe I'll be back to see my family before Christmas?

Nah, not a shopaholic. Hate malls -- too noisy, too much stuff, too many people.

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

Just waiting until I get there(okay okay..... I do it here in Brazil too... hehe) to start shopping like crazy :lol:

I like to shop... but I do know when/how to control it too..... I think I'm good with money.

I do worry about how much weight I'm going to put on whe I get there..... I know I'll be probably eating a lot of unhealthy/fast food.... ;) Eating habits are a little different between Brazil x USA. I mean we still have all the junk food and all but our everyday food is a lot more natural.... that helps keeping the weight off I think. I'm not sure how well I'm gonna manage that.....

Latest steps:

10/26/2006- Consulate receives case (seriously, one month to receive the case?? BS!), and packet 3 that I sent even before they had received the case.

01/02/2007- Interview!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got a 221(g)

01/23/2007- Second Interview. VISA granted!!!

01/29/2007- VISA arrived.... no envelope though. I'm gonna contact them and see what happened this time!

01/31/2007- I'll have to send them one last financial support evidence.

02/01/2007- Evidence sent

02/02/2007- Evidence received by Consulate

02/06/2007- Consulate sends envelope!

02/07/2007- Envelope received!!!

02/10/2007- Flew to the USA!!!!!!

04/17/2007- Wedding day!!!
