Just had to share!

As some of you know, I've been working at my weight loss for awhile. Well, this morning I weighed in at 199 lbs! That's the first time in over ten years for me! I'm SO happy! I've heard that once you go over 200, it's hard to get back down! Anyhow, I feel like you guys are part of my family now and so I wanted to share! Talk about super excited!

Congratulations! That is such an accomplishment. Have you followed any particular program (Weight Watchers, etc.)?

I've tried a lot of things Autumnchick, including Weight Watchers. Weight Watchers never did work for me. I've been doing a program where I'm eating more protein than carbs right now. I've been doing a lot of fruit as carbs, as well as beans and sweet potatoes. I've found that I'm probably allergic to wheat and gluten, etc, so I feel better when I don't eat it. I've also been watching Paul McKenna's program "I Can Make You Thin" on TLC on Sunday nights and his little golden rules are working for me! I find that eating consciously is the hardest part, but also the part that's making the MOST difference now!

Oh Liz, things are SO different from when I was 288 pounds about 3 years ago! It's crazy! I also exercise at least 6 days per week. But I only usually do about thirty minutes of cardio. I can't weight train right now due to a few injuries.

I mean it keep up the good work. I had lost 50 pounds before moving to the US, and now I have gained 30 back in the last year so I need to get back to what worked for me which was the Zone Diet (started it and was going to a gym).

I just saw that program advertised on TLC yesterday, I think I am going to look out for it. And again CONGRATS, keep it up.

Thanks Leafgal. The Zone diet is pretty much what I had been following until I saw that program on tv. It made a huge difference for me, that's for sure! Also, great job on the weight loss! You can lose the rest of your weight. It can be tough, but you already know you can do it! Good luck!

Firslt, big congratulations are in order!!! Weight set-points are always tough to break through but once to break one, you usually drop a quick 20 lbs. or so. I know you wrote a while back about injuries to your knees, so until they heal you might try some isometrics or hard flexing (go slowly). That's all I can think of. Whatever you do, do not try to power through the pain; an acute injury will become a chronic condition.

Please keep it up Amy, you're an inspiration to all of us who could lose a few (and not-so-few ) pounds.

Thanks for all the congratulations everyone! Breaking through that 200 lb mark has been something that I've been trying to do for a long time. I honestly had a mental block against it. I kept telling myself I couldn't do it. Then when I did, I kept getting injured. I'm feeling MUCH better now, and I actually did it! YAY! I'm glad I can be a bit of an inspiration. It takes a lot of hard work, but it's getting easier. It's got to be a lifestyle change, that's for sure. Now the next big milestone will be in 11 pounds when I hit 188 and realize that I've lost 100 pounds!

Congrats. I have seen bits and pieces of that show "I Can Make You Thin". Now reading that it is working for someone, I think I will keep my eye open for it and give it a shot.

Keep up the good but hard work. Those next 11 lbs will be gone before you know it.
