My wife left her job but...

So Im filing for the I485 package, and my wife and her father are my financial sponsors. So a couple week ago she left the job she was pervious at for another, but then because of management problems. She had to leave again.

However this is where the problem gets interesting, because althrough she is my main sponsor, its her father who is putting the financial resources to allow me to qualify. In fact i do believe even without my wife's current job, I would still qualify due to her father's income.

So Im wondering what my options are and what should i do. Should I just update the info on the I-864ez form and file the package? What should i do?

First, make sure that your father-in-law meets the relevant poverty guidelines. If not, wait till your wife has a job again.

If so, both your wife and him fill out an I864. Watch out for the check boxes, they can be tricky (no-one should check the "I am the first of two co-sponsors" checkbox). For her current income put 0, for the last 3 years put in the relevant amounts.

Include the last year's tax returns and w2 for both sponsors. include copies of both their passports/birth certificates.

The I864-ez wouldn't have been relevant anyway, thats only when your primary sponsor meets the guidelines themselves.
