I don't recommend doing this at all but as I was reading about the information you need to bring to the embassy for an interview, if somone had a fake employment letter, how would the embassy know? With technology today, it could be very easy to photoshop an employment letter with a fake signature. Are they going to call the employer and verify it? It seems like an easy loop hole in the system.

Tim,

It may be an easy loop hole, but if the ploy is ever discovered the consequences can be severe.

Was the fake employer shown on the G-325A that went in with the petition? Are you going to falsify income tax returns as well to show some fake income from the fake employer?

The letter could most probably be forged but I believe you still need to provide current pay stubs and those may not be so easy to forge, though all is possible now a days........ I personally would not risk ANYTHING having to do with bringing my loved one over here. One slip up and it's DENIED!!!!!

Good luck! :)

It only costs a few dollars to have your own letterhead printed - so if one was to try and fake it; its not that hard and the tax returns don't even need to be signed (I never sent signed copies) so even they can be fake - but if you get caught - the penalty can be deportation for the non-USC and criminal record for the USC and may be even worse - so is it worth the risk to you? Not worth doing it the hard way when you can do it the legal and easy way and not have to worry about being caught or of that knock on the door.

not a good idea at all, why play with someone you love so much for a silly thing.

And you're signing a government document and swearing you are telling the truth - so that's another reason not to - I believe its tantamount to perjury (or whatever the Govt version is..) - the forms say: I certify that any false or misleading statement may result in the permanent refusal of a visa aor denial of entry into the USA'

Since I work for a government agency...I will tell you that "big brother" is always watching. There is a way for them to run your social security number to find out your employer and employemnt history for the last 15 months so I WOULD NOT recommend any fraudulent letters. This could delay your process and creat major problems!!!!

Just some food for thought.............

OK, now how about this?...

I've been "unemployed" for a year as I have been caring for my grandmother, who has Alzheimer's. However, as of January I am being paid. But I do not get an official paycheck from her estate. Sometimes I get a check and other times I get cash.

So what to do? I'd like to be able to show the income, as yearly it would be over the 125% poverty level. I also have a co-sponsor, my parents, who are in charge of my grandmother's estate.

I'm really not sure how to handle this. :(
