1. My fiance lives in North Carolina..he works as high school teacher I think he currently earning about $20,000..is it eough income?

2. I came to Australia as a student 10 years ago do I still need a birth certificate form Korea, if so, should I certified it after translated?

3. When my fiancé file for all documents do they have to be certified??

4. I am currently working as childcare worker and have been working in this field about 5 years..I also, going to complete Bachelor of Teaching (Early childhood education) 3 years degree which allow to teach 0-5 yrs old in early childhood education..does anybody working in this fied in North Carolina? You guys reckon I can able to get a job as early childhood teacher without having a teacher’s license?

You just need to be at 125% in the federal poverty income guidelines for his household size. If it's just you and him, then look for household size of 2. http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1327.html

I'm don't know the answers to your other questions. I'm living in North Carolina too. Don't worry about the racism too much. Idiots live everywhere.

*As lazylivn pointed out just check it HERE.

2. I came to Australia as a student 10 years ago do I still need a birth certificate form Korea, if so, should I certified it after translated?

*I don't have any idea. I hope there will be somebody who can tell more about this.

3. When my fiancé file for all documents do they have to be certified??

*if I am not mistaken, only his birth certificate & divorce decree need to be, that is of course if he was divorced.

4. I am currently working as childcare worker and have been working in this field about 5 years..I also, going to complete Bachelor of Teaching (Early childhood education) 3 years degree which allow to teach 0-5 yrs old in early childhood education..does anybody working in this fied in North Carolina? *You said your fiance is a teacher, maybe he could provide better answer for this one.

*Welcome to VJ. You have come to the right place. This site is a wealth of information and great source of support and inspiration. (F)

I am also an asian fiancee and my fiance is also from North Carolina so I guess I could say I do understand where your worries are coming from. I am a toughie and I can personally handle discrimination when and if it will be directed to me but I don't know how I will react if it will be aimed upon my kids (i have 2 kids ages 8 & 10 who will be coming with me) :( .

As for driving, I was involved in a car accident 5years ago and it still left me with fear in driving. My fiance has told me to get a refreshers course in driving before I leave. So that's what i'll do and I will just cross the bridge when I get there.

BTW, click HERE for the step-by-step guide in filing for K1. We followed it to the core and we were approved without RFE. It will also help to check out other members previous K1 related post. If you still have more specific questions you can post it here and there will be a lot of helpful people willing to share their knowledge.

Best of luck on your visa journey. And may you have a speedy approval.

God speed.

I'm pretty sure the answer is yes. I'm sure someone can give you a more definite answer.

3. When my fiancé file for all documents do they have to be certified??

I think you mean notarized? Where someone has to witness the signatures and put their seal on it? With the initial K-1 petition they do not need to be notarized, just signed by him. Once it is approved there are a few forms that he will have to get notarized. The one I can think of off the top of my head is the affidavit of support. It has to be filled out and notarized, then he will send it to you and you have to take it to your interview with you. I hope that answers your question. :)

I agree with the previous person who said don't worry about racism. There are dumb people everywhere. I am the USC, but I know how hard it is to move somewhere that racism exists. For the first few years after we moved to Utah I had to deal with a lot of racism because I'm mixed race (mom is white, father is Balinese/Jamaican...no one can ever figure out what I am and they always try to guess...I've gotten guesses from Asian to Middle Eastern to Hispanic. :D ). I was a kid and it was really hard to deal with, especially so because my parents are divorced and my mom was re-married. My step-dad happens to be white, which makes no difference to me, but meant that there wasn't anyone in my family who could really understand what I was going through. My parents were very supportive, though and I came through it ok. I'm sure you'll run into really stupid people, but for every one stupid person you'll meet a lot of cool, fun, supportive people! Just don't let the dumb ones ruin it for you. Good luck!!
