can my fiance go to bank of the philippine islands and do this? She lives in CDO and I couldnt find any metro bank there. Also, how long before the interview should this be done, or does it matter?

hi, i don't know if it's okay to pay at BPI for document verification , maybe somebody can answer this for you.. Some advised that as long you have the MNL case number it's better to pay early for this doc. verification fee. And that what i will do to pay ahead of time..

This is just my guess, but they don't send everyone to Document Verification. She was one of the lucky ones who didn't get sent.

In which case she would not have had to pay it. If they had sent her, she would have had to pay it at the time and probably would have taken longer since the fee had to be processed as well.

But like I said this is just my guess

Not all visa petitions are put through document verification. The USEM website states:

Those with a delayed birth or death certificate or only local civil registrar copies of such documents may need to have their documents verified.

In order to avoid unnecessary delay in the visa issuance process, the U.S. Embassy in Manila strongly encourages applicants in the categories mentioned above to pay the document verification fee prior to their immigrant visa interview.

It seems they pick visa petitioners at random as many VJers under document verification AR do not fall in the delayed or civil registrar document classification.

When was this flight? I have been reading VJ and I noticed that only lately that the verification of documents was added to the K1/K3 etc. processes. I am not sure but I believe it only started for those who had interviews starting 2008, I may be wrong. I was interviewed September last year and my cousin October of last year too but no document verification.
