Questions about benef.'s parents

Some of the forms in Packet 3 need the current address of both Rob's parents. His parents are divorced and his dad has minimal contact with them. Rob's mum doesn't know where her ex lives, doesn't know his phone # and neither do Rob or his sister's. He doesn't have a job. They prefer NOT to have any contact with him because of what he did to the family. He comes by every so often but has not been by in almost 2 months to see them.

Is it ok to put "unknown" in a case like this? It will really be a hassle to track him down and we want to get Packet 3 sent back ASAP.

I'm just worried if we don't know his address that it will cause problems.

I'll tell you right up front that I'm just taking an educated guess at this one. I would think that putting the last known address of his father would be best, even if you know it's not current. But, I would also think that putting "unknown" would also be okay. I don't see either tact as causing any problems. In the (extremely) unlikely event that this issue were to come up in the interview, he just has to be honest.

Just my opinion.....hope this helps! :)

thanks Don!

That's kind of what I thought too. I was thinking if they had any questions about the address they could RFE Rob or ask about it at the interview.

And maybe if they do send an RFE, by that time his dad would have popped back up and there'd be a chance to get the info from him

I asked this same question a while ago because I was in the same situation. In the end, I put in the last known address of my father, which was also my residence address before my parents' separation. I sent in my packet 3 last week and I believe that should not pose any problem.

Good luck to you!

Cheers :star:
