The only points I was trying to make was:

1) CHIN UP! it's not as bad as you think! it's all about perspective.

2) Illegal immigrants have nothing to do with your wait time.

You're confusing two issues...processing times, and illegal issues....

Ad furthermore...as far as the two month wait, I'm sorry...but i don't want visas processed quicker than 2 months. For interest of national security.

Wait times will have something to do with it if this legislation passes...ie 1986.

Said what I was thinking much better (and nicer)!!!

I'm sorry, but cry me an f'in river - you are not being punished, everyone goes through the same process. You should have known that when you started dating someone from overseas. You CHOSE to have a child with a man not yet allowed to live in the US. Stop snapping at others on VJ who you want to be your support network, we've been there too at one point & now I'm back there with my husband gone on deployment.

And in your 40 year life-span I would say that if yesterday was the worst you've had it consider yourself a very lucky woman.

You know what people...I'm really getting tired of beating up the newbie day. I am trying to be positive and bring public attention to all our situations...and this is what I get. Go self-reproduce.

wow another heated thread.

as for beating up the newbie, i don't agree with that unless some outrageous statements are made. not seen any so far.

let's not get into a "i've been thru more pain than you" mudslinging contest about this.

No one is beating up the newbie. We're just trying to get you to see things from another perspective. That two months isn't that long. My God, I waited a year and it still isn't even close to HALF as long as some people have to wait. Whether your intentions were to use your child as a reason why you shouldn't have to wait or not, it came off that way a little bit. Do you think none of us had to struggle as single parents while waiting for our SO's? Regardless of if the kids were from our SO or a previous marriage.

I'm sorry, but being alone for that year wasn't the worst thing that has ever happened to me. I've had a divorce, I've had a child diagnosed with seizure disorder, and in the past year alone I've lost 2, count them, 2 babies and in my 5th month of this pregnancy had to fight for my husband being able to stay due to a mistake made by a doctor which led to a deportation letter. Being alone for the time that I had to be alone only did two things for me: Made me stronger and made my relationship stronger with my now husband.

I don't feel that the security issues behind immigration should be ignored. They are there for a reason. I do believe there are flaws in the system, and I do believe that they should fix those flaws. But throwing the baby card into the mix isn't the way to go. That's just my opinion. And I apologize if that's not your intention.

No one wants you to feel unwelcome... just try to remember that most of this advice is from people that have been there.... people that have felt the same as you at one time or another and then realized it's all a matter of perspective and that it could be much much worse. (I.E. MissLiss's situation) VJ is a great place for people to gain friendship and get advice. I couldn't have lived without VJ (still can't).

Also, I think we need to keep the two issues separate: the length of time for a visa and illegal immigration. Again my two cents.

I understand she wants to feel like she's taking part and doing something and thats great. But it also has to be understood that going into this that you have to know it's not just gonna happen with the snap of a fingure. I understand how she feels, and that she misses her husband, but we all are or have. I agree that you can't mix the two ideas of illegals causing us as legals cases to slow down. In essence they are not intergrated whatsoever. This process is a part of life. We all chose to go the legal way so we now have to pay legal consequences on some level. Waiting is one of them, as much as it sucks, thats just life. Life ain't fair all the time. We just have to change our perspective on it. They say that 90% of what comes to you bad or good that you control how the outcome is by the perspective you take on. Life throws hardballs, what can ya do.

the last time David and I parted, we were both so sad, then I said "at least I'm not sending you off to war'

Kinda puts things into perspective for me!

Terri, I'm not trying to 'beat you up' and I'm certainly not your enemy to the point where you should say go f* yourself...but at the end of the day, if this is your threshold...you'd better brace yourself, honey.

I am supportive to everyone here (at least I hope so), but I'll never blow sunshine up your #######, so accept that or not.

I told this story on here once before but my husband's (still getting used to saying it!) grandmother told a story about how her first memory is watching her father broke rank before boarding a ship at Dover to cross the channel to go fight in WWI to give her and her mother a hug and a kiss, the last time she would ever see him - that story always humbles me

I think it's a great letter, and I also think you're a very lucky woman if yesterday was one of THE WORST days of your life. Congratulations!

:yes::thumbs:

I'm very sorry that all of us have to go through this process but it makes me feel better now that I have VJ and know that I'm not alone. I know that waiting and being apart for months and months is really hard, but there's always someone that has been waiting longer than us, so that's where I find comfort.

I really wish everyone here a lot of peace of mind, because we're doing the right thing guys and in the long term we'll have a lot less worries than the people that chose some other path. (F)(L):star:
