Most large cities have places you'd rather not be (i.e. DC, Baltimore, etc). OVerall though, some of these cities aren't that bad when compared to other cities that suck at life.

What is interesting to me is how the US, once renowned for metropolises, now probably has some of the worst I have seen in the world. I seriously don't get why..

You look at Canadian cities, for example, and there is no comparison. Vancouver is awesome.

Is it just me or does DC have some sort of height restriction on buildings..

Yes, Vancouver is awesome. I consider it one of the finest cities I have ever visited. On the other hand Hamilton, Ontario is a real ^&%$hole. I felt sorry for the people I met there. They were like the survivors of some horrific social experiment gone awry. Canada has it's problems also (the entire Canadian Government comes to mind).

What puzzles me is why are so many US cities run down?? I just don't get that..

Wasteful government run social programs that steal peoples' self-reliance and pride instituted citywide.

Really? I was thinking corruption, misuse /misappropriation of publics funds, bureacratic red tape, hiring bad, inefficient contractors whose credentials are never verified.

· Atlantic City, New Jersey—Come for the slots. Stay for the gang warfare and fourth-rate prostitutes.

""is this true????????????????

Yeah. AC is very ghetto.

I've not heard good things, at least not to make me want to go down there.

We go down there frequently. We only pass through the hood if we get lost looking for the Borgata. Otherwise, it's off the ac expressway onto private casino parking.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

I was in Houma, lousiana for 4 months. Wasnt impressed with it at all. Infact i was disgusted in some areas. It certainly didnt have a welcome feeling. The street i lived there was 3 people murdered in one week. I also visited Bourbon Street in New Orleans and stench of pish and sick was gross. Im moving to Summerville, Charleson SC end of this year. I havent been there yet but i do believe its a lovely area expect for the Mount Pleasant area. Any feed back would be great.
