Timeline

It is almost 4 weeks, I am not gettng my SS card. I filed with my married name.

AOS Timeline:

Feb. 15, 2008 - Got married

Feb. 29, 2008 - Apllied SSN with married name

Mar. 11, 2008 - Packet mailed (AOS, EAD, & AP)

Mar. 12, 2008 - AOS pkt was delivered

Mar. 18, 2008 - Check cashed!!

Mar. 20, 2008 - Received NOAs for AOS, EAD, & AP as notice date on 17th March

Mar. 25, 2008 - Received Bio. Appointment Letter

Apr. 9, 2008 - Bio. Appointment Date

Apr. 2, 2008 - SS Card received

Apr. 9, 2008 - I-485 and I-765 are online

May. 7, 2008 - Email notification of EAD "card production ordered"/approval of Travel Document

May. 12, 2008 - Received AP in mail

May. 15, 2008 - Received EAD Approval email

May. 17, 2008 - Received EAD card in mail

Aug. 20, 2008 - AOS Interview (Recived Interview Letter on June 27)

Aug. 25, 2008 - Received welcome letter

Sep. 2, 2008 - Received 2 years green card

I-751 Timeline

06/17/2010 - Mailed I-751 packet via Priority mail to VSC

06/19/2010 - Packet was delivered

06/22/2010 - Check depsosited

06/26/2010 - Received NOA/Extension letter as notice date on June 21

07/10/2010 - Received Biometrics Appointment Letter

08/03/2010 - Bio. Appointment Date

08/24/2010 - Recived Approval Letter dated 08/17/2010

08/28/2010 - Received Card

09/27/09 - Approved

10/01/09 - Received 10 year green card

U.S. Citizenship

03/30/11 - N-400 sent via Priority Mail w/ delivery confirmation

05/12/11 - Biometrics

07/20/11 - Interview - passed

07/20/11 - Oath ceremony - same day as interview

maybe that is why... hte verification is much more difficult in the married name than in your name that the USCIS/DHS knows you by

Have you gone back into the office? Calling is pretty much a waste of time, unless you are speaking to someone in the SSA office where you submitted the application and even then it's a roll of the dice to get any useful info. Plus if you have been assigned an SSN they aren't going to give out to you over the phone.

I went down to the social security office here in town today, and they would not even let me fill out a application. they said i cannot apply until i have my EAD card in hand. I dont know maybe it is just this state that wont give you one.

SSA is a federal agency not a state agency.... If you are not work authorized you are ineligible for a SSN. Your profile would indicate you are not work authorized yet... therefore it appears they did right.

What is your immigration status? If K-3, they were correct. If K-1 and you haven't been here over 76 days, they were wrong.

i have been here almost 90 days.... not sure what status i came threw here on my passport..no stamp in passport.. i was approved and received EAD card but had to send it back..had wrong year of birth..i did bring with me my A # but they said that wont do

....

Yes, you need something that shows you are authorized to work. Once you get the EAD card back you can go apply.
