I did post this in another topic-but no one is in there-everyone is here :P

I called Dublin to see if they received packet 3-they did. Now they are saying that Gavin needs to go & get fingerprinted-before they can do anything else. Does this mean we are going to have to wait another 6 months????

has anyone else had to do this a week or so BEFORE the interview???

I am really really upset :(

I've never heard of that before. Maybe they've only just introduced it...but then, it would be happening in other Embassies too. Somebody out there must know about this I imagine.

I do hope it's only another formality and Gavin gets his interview soon :)

My wife (then fiancee) didn't have to do it before. She did get fp'd on the day of the interview though, by the CO himself.

Don't let yourself get too upset. Just do what they say, procedures do change from time to time and from location to location.

I wanted to die when she told me this(I called today to see when his interview was going to be). She says "oh gavin needs to have his fingerprints taken BEFORE his interview". I don't know if it is b/c he was denied entry or what, but I was shocked. I was hoping to find out the date, so i can try to book a flight. I am so upset :(

I am so glad that they are great to deal with, but why couldn't they have asked him to do this months ago? his noa2 expires on 7/7/06.....................my head is wrecked.

So, do the Embassy have to schedule a date for the fingerprints or can Gavin do this part? At least he lives in Dublin and it won't be too much of a pain for him.

I would make sure that they don't mean the fingerprints that they take on the day of the interview. Did she say how long more the interview would take after the fingerprints?

Our NOA2 has already expired.... am hoping that won't be a problem

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)

Conditional Green Card dated 24th October 2007

Received on 7th August 2009 in VT

she actually seemed a bit confused to be honest

She just said that HE needs to call on Thurs to make arrangements with the embassy to get them done. He told me there was something in the paperwork he received, but I assumed it would be dealt with at the interview-not a few weeks before. I guess we will know more after he calls them. This just seemed very strange to me.

I mentioned that it expeires 7/7 & she said they could extend it-but again....................why have him go through all of this now? I don't remember seeing anything on VJ about fingerprints-will he have to pay for these as well as the medical and visa fee?

thanks guys ;)

I imagine the woman may have been confused about the type of visa Gavin would be interviewing for. I think when he calls Thursday, that it's a possibility they may give him an interview date.

Let us know how it goes Thursday, and if nothing else...at least things are finally nearing an end for you guys!

This is most likely because of his turn-around.

One of my journey-mates had this with her fiance' last summer. He had been traveling frequently and eventually got turned back. He had to go in for a preliminary round of prints before the interview. That was the London consulate.

I thought they might want to "compare" with the prints they took before they threw him back on a plane(sorry for the tiny rant). he overstayed 2 days..................2 days!!!!!!

But I don't understand why they want to do that NOW-right before we get the interview date. I honestly thought I would be seeing him soon. I am afraid it will hold us up another few months-can't deal with that :(
