I was wondering if anybody's done medical examination in Vladivostok? I didn't hear very nice things about the person there who does medical plus I wonder how much it costs, because US embassy in Moscow doesn't inidicate the fee amount on its website. Comments.... I am almost inclining towards doing my medicals in Moscow, but my medical record is lost here in my hometown so I worry about complecations... and it is pricy to fly back and force to Moscow.

My wife did hers in Vladivostok in the summer of 2006. She said there were no problems and I don't think it was any more expensive than the Moscow cost. That may have changed since, I don't know.

The one thing she liked about doing it there was it was one less thing she had to do in Moscow, and that also saved her money because that was one less day she had to stay there. It is possible to fly to Moscow for the interview and do the medical only a day or two prior, thus getting it all done in one trip. There's no way I'd fly back and forth!

I'll talk to her a little more about it today (she's working now) and see what she says.

Who said anything about flying back. You can schedule your medical a day before the interview at MOM if you wanted to to. All the other clinics make you wait for the next day for results. That way you only lose one day at most unless your interview falls on Monday. Have the visa scheduled for office pickup and you could be on a plane to the US in less than a week. Rent a place from a local at http://www.irr.ru/ or some other version of a Russian craigslist to get the best deal.

Here is the link for the clinics and pricing:

I'm sorry. I didn't talk to her about it. Forgot completely until right now.

I'll see what she remembers about it tonight and hopefully update tomorrow.
