I-134 Affidavit of Support Question!!

Hi Guys!

I am gathering the evidence in support of the I-134 Affidavit of Support as required. My salary exceeds the poverty guideline so with respect to that, I do not have any problem. However, my savings account is not fat enough, nonetheless, I have a 401k account with $$, the question is, can I report my 401k savings as part of my savings account?

If you meet the guidelines on income alone you do not need any information about assets/savings etc.

You should be fine with just the letter from your employer, tax info, and pay stubs

Since you surpass the poverty guidelines. Give only the info that the I-134 requires. My savings account was basically used up in the whole process of seeing each other as much as possible but my income and deposits to the bank well exceeded the poverty guidelines. The embassy didn't even question it or my low savings account balance. They just want to make sure you make enough money to support you, your dependents and your fiancee soon to be wife or husband. Don't sweat it and be truthful. No worries.
