I keep seeing everyone saying that you have to get tax transcripts for the past 3 years, but as I understand it the only one that you HAVE to show is for the most RECENT tax year and the 2nd and 3rd recent are optional....

Can some one confirm this for me please?

NATURALIZATION
07-03-2013: Eligible to file
07-22-2013: Application sent (Delivered: 07-24-13)
08-05-2013: NOA1 received (Priority date: 07-24-13, Check cashed: 07-29-13)
08-22-2013: Biometrics (Received: 08-06-13, Walk-in: 08-08-13)
09-03-2013: Inline for interview (Yellow letter received: 10-23-13)
11-04-2013: Interview scheduled (Received: 11-09-13)
12-12-2013: Interview (Approved)
01-03-2014: Oath ceremony, passport application and passport received

DONE!

yes, the instructions say that. But if you have the anothers it's better is tou show them. Most of we think that if uscis says OPTIONAL we must show them or it's better if you do it.

01/24/2008---I-130 APPROVED (email)

I-129F

11/2007-------sent I-129F - VSC

02/17/2008---touched (at Vermont)

...I'm CR1 now--IV bill shows CR1--oh well

NVC

02/12/2007---at NVC

02/25/2008---received DS-3032 and AOS bill

03/10/2008---received IV Bill ($400!!)

03/24/2008---mailed DS2032

10/10/2008---approved at NVC

11/06/2008---interview (more evidence)

02/17/2009---2nd interview- PASSED!!!!!

04/01/2009---He finally landed on US soil. (no joke)

Most people send them so that USCIS can not issue an RFE for additional years, because the 3 years are provided from the begining. Plus you can use the same transcripts for the I-864 during AOS.

Not true. If you have filed already then it is fine. 2007 is the most recent tax year any time after Jan 1, 2008 if you have the paperwork completed. Many people already have their refunds for 2007!

I filed I-864EZ form and only send for 2006, it was accepted.

I was able to get my 2007 transcript.
