isn't there an old journalism cliche that says headlines about buildings that don't burn won't sell newspapers? likewise, "dutch lawmaker launches anti-islam film: millions of maghrebines do nothing" or "anti-islam film released: over 100 million indonesians attend school/go to work as usual" just doesn't create the same sensationalism that handfuls of idiots here and there can create.

do i feel "hijacked" by them? no, no more so than i feel "hijacked" or responsible for the the actions of the miserable wretches who dragged james byrd behind a truck, who happened to be white and american like i am. it's funny how so many here who will decry the foulness of painting all of white america with the racism brush, are so often perfectly willing to do the same thing to an entire religious group comprised of over a billion people. .
