Will the NVC allow this?

Is it possible to have the NVC send the I-184 as well as the other paperworks to me instead of to my husband in Iraq when we get to that point? and to do this would I just have to make myself the agent, or does that only pertain to the packet that is sent to the beneficiary?

Our biggest issue is with the time it takes for the mail to go back and forth from Iraq. If I mail the documents in for him (filled out and signed by him) that would make transit time much shorter and also....less likelyhood of things getting lost. We have already lost mail sending it from there.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Who's the beneficiary? What type of visa are you pursuing? There is no I-184 form?

EDITED:

Is it possible to have the NVC send the I-864 as well as the other paperworks to me instead of to my husband in Iraq when we get to that point? and to do this would I just have to make myself the agent, or does that only pertain to the packet that is sent to the beneficiary?

Also, my husband is the petitioner, I am the beneficiary and we are going to persue the CR1 visa. I-130 not sent in as yet.

I will start the timeline as soon as it is!

Based on edited version can you help me now?

You can make yourself the agent but the I-864 will need to get to your husband for signature and the supporting documents will be needed to go with it. He'll need to pay the fees as well, using US funds.

Hi pushbrk...

What I was thinking of doing is having him print, fill out and sign the I-864 from now and also get the supporting documents ready and get them to me, so that when the time comes we can utilize James' shortcuts to get it in faster, or at worst just not have to run the risk of it getting "lost" in transit from Iraq.

If I had all the info with me and ready to go when the time comes I am wondering if rather than sending the packet to Iraq if they would send it to me and I can just put it in the envelope and send. I can easily get a money order drawn on a US bank and pay the fees that way.

I hope you are following my train of thought here....

Thanks for your help!
