Interview Reschedule

I would like to know if anyone has experienced missing his/her K-1 interview date as a result of not receiving the interview appointment letter in the post.

This my situation at the moment as i was told the first time i called the embassy that it usually takes about 6-8weeks to schedule an interview appointment.

after i waited for 7 weeks, i rang back only to be informed i failed to show up on my appointment date on March 10th. i explained to the guy that i did not receive the letter in the post. he gave me a reference code and the email address to mail the consular to reschedule my interview. My concern now is if they read emails, if i would have to wait for a longer period to get another date, if this would not affect my visa as i only confirmed this 17 days after my appointed date. am so worried i need someone to shed more light if he/she knows the implication.......................
