Good morning all,

Our interview is in a few weeks, and I'm about to request a few letters from my employer. Unfortunatly, I left the interview letter at home, so, I'll ask all you lovely people here instead. I know these have been asked a million times and I've read them through a million times, but now that it's my interview, I just want to quintuple check everything :star:

1. What should the employment letter say? I think it's suppose to have when you started working there, a job title and the pay rate.

2. Is it ok if the letter is dated 3 weeks before the interview?

3. Would it be good evidence if my employer also writes a letter that says that my husband is listed as my husband in the company personnel files, and that he is the beneficiary of my insurance (life and health)? I have a letter coming from Blue Cross stating he's my dependant, but would two letters be better?

Ok, for other evidence:

*we have a few pictures of us together. I was thinking of bringing about 15, some when we got married, a few from thanksgiving with friends, some of my husband with my grandma, and a few of us together at the zoo and conservatory. Should I include some pictures of our time together in Egypt before the K-1 too?

*We have a joint lease. Is it sufficient to simply present a copy of the lease, as the original is in the landlord's possession?

*A joint checking and savings account. Are internet print offs of our statements ok? We don't get statements in the mail. I was going to get a letter from the bank stating that we have a joint account. Is it ok if this letter is dated 3 weeks before the interview?

*Updated Aff. of Support, which includes our 2005 taxes married filing jointly. Are copies of the tax returns ok, or will the IRS already have transcripts of 2005 taxes?

*A certified copy of our marriage certificate, and a copy of the certificate we registered with the Egyptian consulate (don't want to give them the orig of that, cost $$ to register).

Oy time flies! We got our letter nearly a month ago, wrote up a list of things to do, and I'm not where near close to being done with it yet.

2. Yes, that shouldn't present any problems. My husband's employment letter was dated a month before our interview. Our interviewing officer barely glanced at it.

3. If two letters help you feel better, go for it. :)

* The pictures you have after you got married should suffice.

* A copy of the lease is good enough.

* We showed Internet print-outs of our joint account statements. Interviewing officer was satisfied with those. The date of your letter from the bank should be good enough.

* Copies of tax returns are fine.

* Certified copies of your marriage certificate are fine. We used those at our interview too.

All the best for your interview. :)

Sounds like you are getting everything you need together. I know my husband and I got together everything on the letter and more and they didn't look at a thing (she said everything she needed was already in our file). He did ask her why she didn't want to see anything we brought wtih us and she said the letter is just a form letter. Then she said, ok, let me see a bank statement, which I gave to her, she glanced at it and handed it back. There was no reason for us to argue since she approved him within 5 minutes. Good Luck! Better to have everything just in case.
