Salaam all,

Happy Thursday!

Just a quick question: For those of you who accompanied your habeebs to their interview in Casablanca, did any of you spend the night there before the interview? And if so, where did you stay? Was it reasonably close to the consulate?

We hope to spend the night there before our interview next month, inchallah, and even though i lived in Morocco, i've never actually spent the night in Casa. Any ideas?

Shukran bzef bzef! (F)(F)

If your not yet married I would recommend going with an American or French hotel chain. My husband and I had a VERY hard time getting into a Moroccan hotel without a marriage certificate. Much more difficult then in Marrakech, Tangier or Fes. We ultimately stayed with family so I can't shed light on a specific hotel. There is a Hilton near the consulate that you might be able to get a good price on priceline.com or something.

We stayed at the Golden Tulip when in casa before (first trip) dont remember price but must have been within (my) reason, wont take long in the taxi from most any of them, they never questioned us on marriage. You do know that you will just have to stand across the street or at the corner cafe and not go in during interview

Ooo... that would work out great if that is the case.

Only thing is that i can remember which train station is closest to the consulate... Casa Voyageur or Casa Port.... i only had to go to the consulate once while i was living there...

My husband says that Casa Voyageur is the closest one to the consulate, 15 dh by taxi. I think the Ibis was around $50 per night when we stayed there, but I've seen others quote a lower price.
