Hi All

I am in a huge problem and need ur advise.

I work for a software company and my company is sending me to Canada for 2 months.I received NOA2 on 26th Feb,so i assume it is valid ntil 26th June. The case was forwarded to Delhi embassy but i never received any packet 3 or 4 from them.

I had mailed them for extending my NOA2 and they replied saying that i have my interview on 5th May.

I was so shocked as i never submitted anything ,so how cud i have the interview.

Questions:

1) I can defintely not attend the interview on 5th May as i am travelling to canada this weekend and i wont get any holidays so i cant fly back.

What do i do now?

Will my petition become invalid?I called up the embassy and told that i cant attend the interview on 5th may and they said when i m ready o shd mail them and they will reschedule it.

But my concern is whether my not being able to attend the interview make the petition invalid. Is there something should do to avoid any problems?

2)My noa2 is valid until 26th june.I am not sure if i can attend the intervew before 26th june. How do i get this extended.Embassy said that it is upto the discretion of the officer.

Please advise on my case.Has anybody been through a similar situation.

3)Do we have to get the police certificates only from the countries where we spent more than 6 months or does it have to be from every city of india where i have stayed.

Thanks

Hey

Let us know wht kind of visa you have applied for..K1, K3 or IR1/Cr1??

You can reshedule ur interview date if you have a valid reason, but you will get a date only after a long wait. So better attend the interview atleast the second time at any cost or else you will invite more trouble....Good Luck!

First of all, it is not a huge problem so try to stay calm. I have heard of people rescheduling interviews in India with good success, for weeks or even months later. If you know the date of your arrival back to India, you can request an interview date now, for a convenient date after you arrive back.

Second, usually the Consulate is lax about the NOA2 expire date, they do not make a big thing of it. I would suggest you send them an official letter now, "Request to Extend Approval of I-129F", find the VJ link here:

Extend Approval

As for the PCC (Police Clearance Certificate), if possible get one from places in India that you have stayed more than 6 months, if you have proof of residence. However as long as you have a PCC from the passport office and your main residence, it is enough. I have never heard of problems for too few PCCs. For example, my husband stayed in Hyderabad for 2 years before adn while filing for the K1 visa. He could not get a PCC from there due to not having proof of residence (bank account, voting card or official lease with local address, etc.). He just got the Visakhapatnam passport office PCC and a PCC from his village, and was good to go. No one said anything about a PCC from Hyderabad.

Below I will attach a Word copy of the Request to Extend Approval of I-129F form. Good luck!
