Because there are no 'white' people. Do you see yourself as a 'white' person? I know I don't. It's a totally meaningless term. The accomplishments of non black people are already celebrated and documented, we don't need to hold them up and say, hey look we did great things too.

Am I "proud" of what other white people have accomplished? Not really - it had nothing to do with me.

I don't get the whole "<insert your race here> pride" thing, but if "pride" is about being proud,

and not about flaunting your accomplishments, then "white pride" makes just as much sense

as "black pride".

if you were talking to me. no. i am an Italian/Irish American. i just fit into the "white/caucasion" catagory. the same "no white people" statement does apply to all skin tones. why does anyone care or feel the need to include what skin color anyone has when they list accomplishments?

I prefer going to Octoberfest, Slavic festivals, Italian festivals, Czech festivals, St. Patrick's Day, etc. to celebrate the white cultures. Food, fun, and festivities...that's what I like.

When black folks subject white folks to 2 centuries of slavery plus another century and a half of general discrimination because the white folks are destroying the fabric of America, then I'm sure we'll have a reversal of the whole argument and criticize black pride as something racist in concept and practice.

Until then, linear history and a practical knowledge of who is expousing white pridepower only supports the simple observations made by those above.

The Aryan race is a fallacy. This guy is proud to be something that never existed and equally pathetic for believing that being so makes him superior to those who aren't Aryan.

Max Müller is often identified as the first writer to speak of an Aryan "race" in English. In his Lectures on the Science of Language in 1861[7] he referred to Aryans as a 'race' of people. However, when this was interpreted to imply a biologically distinct sub-group of humanity, he soon clarified that he simply meant a line of descent, insisting that it was very dangerous to mix linguistics and anthropology. He argued that the long-headed "dolichocephalic-blond" Europeans, characteristically found in northern Europe, were natural leaders, destined to rule over more "brachiocephalic" (short headed) peoples.[9].

I am not sure that I personally would have chosen to assert black pride in the way that it has been done. However, it is what it is and it's certainly not ok to sit around and say 'yeah, you know what 'white pride' is a real objective, I can see a need for that' when all it is is a cover for those who wish to assert white supremacy.

I'm not criticizing black pride, but if black people can be "proud" of what their "race" has

accomplished (which I believe to be a silly concept - what does a random black person

have to do with the accomplishments of Martin Luther King, Jr - other than the fact that

both happened to be black?), then white people can be proud of their race's accomplishments

as well (an equally silly concept, of course.)

Well, that's your wierd interpretation of course. However, the reality is, no one here is ashamed of having 'white' skin. It's all about closet racism those people harbouring it being put squarely in the mirror to face what they are.

If that was what was happening, I wouldn't really care. However, as has been stated we all know that 'white' pride is no such thing, it's a vehicle for racists to tout their sick wares.
