White people were never marginalized in America. The achievements of white people were never minimized and swept under the rug.

That did happen to black people. Thus a black history month. To remind people, especially black people, of their unique contributions to American history.

Another important distinction is that last I checked, black pride ideals don't express an anti-miscegenation position, which I'd say is significant.

Because there are no 'white' people. Do you see yourself as a 'white' person? I know I don't. It's a totally meaningless term. The accomplishments of non black people are already celebrated and documented, we don't need to hold them up and say, hey look we did great things too.

Can you be proud of your achievements? Sure.

The statement I made had more to do with the reality of 'white pride' movements in America. They're about hate and violence. Facts on the ground versus theoretical possibilities.

You don't 'get it' because you are failing to see what it for what it is. It doesn't mean, 'hey look white people are great, look at all the things they can do which have never been recognised.' It means, 'I want to rub your face in #### because you aren't white like me.'

But you KNOW this isn't the goal of the people in the OP.

No one said anything about not being proud or having to feel guilty about being white. And as I said in my other post, white people DO get to celebrate achievements. I'll give you an example as it is the most recent on the calendar I can think of, March 4th...

Casimir Pulaski Day is a holiday observed in Illinois on the first Monday of every March to commemorate Casimir Pulaski, a Revolutionary War cavalry officer born March 4, 1747 in Poland as Kazimierz Pułaski. He is known for his contributions to the US military at the time by training its soldiers and cavalry. The day is celebrated mainly in areas that have large Polish populations. Chicago has one of the largest Polish populations in the United States. This is a separate holiday from the federal holiday, General Pulaski Memorial Day, which commemorates Pulaski's death at the Siege of Savannah on October 11, 1779.

Illinois enacted a law on June 20, 1977 to celebrate the birthday of Casimir Pulaski and held the first official Pulaski Day celebrations in 1978. The bill was introduced by Senator Leroy W.
