What is it with lawyers? So often people have no idea what their lawyer is doing despite having talked to them about what it is they want.

There was a time when I felt that using a lawyer for something this important was a good idea. But that time has long since passed.

To be honest? There is nothing with lawyer but money wastage.. It was not my idea to hire one although I couldn't object anymore because he was already there. The lawyer kinda forgot sending us an e-mail regarding I-129f application so my husband called his office after 2 days. He doesn't want to give me much of info because it is his job according to him (He cannot do that as receipt is all that I need to check our case online). But I have read a lot of "bad" experiences in connection with lawyers so I am also keeping an eye on our visa process.

30th April 08 - USCIS returned petitions requesting correct title on cheques

2nd May 08 - Mailed out I-130s again! Finally on our way!!!

9th May 08 - NOA-1

7th Nov 08 - Tranferred to CSC

4th Dec 08 - Approved!!!

22nd Dec 08 - NVC # assigned

23rd June 09 - Case Complete at NVC (We slowed down the process on purpose to time interview accordingly)

18th August 09 - Medical

25th August 09 - Interview Date - Approved!!!

19th February 10 - POE L.A (No dramas, just SLOW)

2nd March 10 - Welcome to America Letter

I was approved on July 23. I did not get any touches to my file......just received the hardcopy of NOA2 in the mail today.

Thanks for the compliment happyinlove012408 and you're welcome KAHM - it's nice to get feedback.

There have been approvals earlier in the year which I have only just located. I think this is because a lot of K3 filers have changed to IR1/CR1 status so their stats are only showing now. If you notice anyting I've missed or miscalculated, just let me know.

It is his job not to give you too much information? <g> He works for you. Let him know that in no uncertain terms. And if he's not respectful of the client, he can find himself not working for you. I am still waiting.... Congrats to all those who were approved!! I have my letter from USCIS stating that my official interview is August 14th. So the local office will approve or deny the application that day.

I-130 Timeline:

12-11-2007- Married my Love

02-08-2008- CSC receives I-130

02-11-2008- Received Hardcopy NOA1

08-14-2008- Approved!!! 216 days...

08-21-2008- NOA2 Hardcopy received

08-27-2008- NVC Receives file, NVC Case Number issued

09-05-2008- AOS Fee Bill and DS-3032 Generated

09-06-2008- E-mailed DS-3032 to NVC

09-11-2008- Received Hardcopy of DS-3032 and AOS Fee Bill

09-15-2008- Mailed Hardcopy of DS-3032

Sometimes people, contractors of any sort, need to be reminded of that. Don't be shy about reminding him. Your money. Your life. Not his.

My husband asked him then he said that the I-129f was sent shortly upon the receipt of NOA1. He never mentioned the date and I am so irritated. Till now we are so clueless the fact that we received NOA1 of I-130 few days after it has been sent. What happened to the other one (I-129f)? Nobody knows....

Can't he understand that I need the exact date? He will receive another call from us today. I need a specific answers to my questions. :angry:

lawyers r not the most friendly people...if u guys hired one get on their case...let them show u all the attitude they want..u r paying them all this cash and u need an answer whenever u want...he works according to u, u dont work according to him..good luck!
