My fiancee in Bangkok received the P3 and is preparing the necessary documents. :dancing: In particular, the police report will take 2-3 weeks to get. I'm completing my I-134 Affidavit of Support document (and waiting for my employer's letter) which will take a week, including postal service.

The P3 states "As soon as you have obtained ALL the documents that apply in your case, carefully read the statement below, sign and date it and return this checklist to this office by mail". The statement is "I hereby certify that I have in my posession and am prepared to present all of the listed documents to my case." This is not yet true, because the police report has not been obtained and my documents are still pending. So, technically, the P3 cannot be signed and returned.

However, the Bangkok embassy FAQ says this about the K1 interview: "the interview is normally scheduled 10-12 weeks after the Packet 3 materials are returned." (http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visas/frequently-asked-questions.html).

But, to wait 2-3 weeks until my documents and the police report arrives, and then 10-12 weeks for the interview seems like wasted time. :clock: Our experience shows that it's impossible to get the documents ready so quickly. (Even getting it early is not an option, as the police require the P3 letter as "proof" that it's really needed.) I see that many people in BKK submit their P3 a day or two after receiving it. How is that happening? I'd like to submit it early, but being untruthful (and found out) in a statement to a body of the government like the embassy is an easy way to never get a visa. :diablo:

So is it generally accepted to submit the P3 before all the materials are really ready, given the advertised 10-12 week scheduling lag?

I wanna get this all over with ASAP

Thanks!
