duh, b4 i forget, creme de leite (im sure pedro knows what im talking about) it's kind of similar to heavy cream or sour cream, blah, u americans have nothing that can really compare to, creme de leite rules!!

we call it media crema.. i know what you're talking about.. i know places where to find them now... but before, it was a pain.. either sour or sweet cream.. no middle point.. #######

yes. i buy it at the mexican aisle. nestle media crema.

about the potatoes, we call it ''batata palha'' in brazil, and what I thought would be the most similar here was the potato sticks. it's pretty much fried potatoes in a stick shape, like very crunchy and all.

yea.. when i used to eat 'fresas con crema' in mexico, that's the cream they use.. not thick, not super sweet.. or sour.. ugh..

Hey, I did!

I just don't feel like cooking at the moment. I rather let my cutsie Mom pamper me with food. I wish I had Pedro here with me, so I could cook for him. Then I would cook flash stuff every day.

Now that I am antibiotics I can't have any dairy products, that makes it tricky as well. Give me a week and I am back to normal and then I join the VJ iron Chef again!

Yesterday I made the most amazing marinara sauce with tomatoes from my garden.

so anyway, this is my strogonoff.

- 2 lbs beef

- 1 can tomato paste,

- 1 clove garlic,

- 1 small onion,

- 2 tbsp ketchup

- 1 tbsp mustard

- 1 tbsp worcesteshire sauce

- 1 can sliced mushrooms

- 1 can whole mushrooms

- chives, parsley, salt, pepper

after is done u assemble in a plate with white rice and finger potatoes

I am so going to make this tomorrow!! How come I missed this thread? I thought y'all were talking about a tv show or something

I have always wondered something.. how is marinara sauce different then regular pasta sauce? they taste different and I was just wondering why...

marinara to me is just fresh tomato, garlic, onion, olive oil & fresh herbs like basil. regular pasta sauce to me is something from a can. also I think marinara is thicker

also bolognese sauce has loads more ingredients if you make it from scratch and takes a lot longer. I just took the skin off the tomato and crushed it with my fingers into the pan

marinara is a quick thing you just make and bolognese takes forever
