what is it?

you have a thin slice of beef that you season with pepper, salt, paprika, whatever you want, then you place on top raw slices of bacon, and onions, slices of carrots, it can have other stuff, like celery, whatever you like, some people put slices of picles.

Then you form into a roll and to hold it you can either use a thread or a few toothpics.

then you either slowcook in a tomato sauce, or you can even bbq it, ot fry it, or bake it, depends on what you like.

I don't have a slow cooker, so I'll either use my pressure cooker or I'll bake it.

Oh yum!! Nessa, you are so German!

My Mom fills them with sliced pickle, bacon, onion and mustard, then she fries it in a frying pan. She takes them out and fries chopped carrots, leeck and celery in the grease in the pan, then adds a bit of red wine, some water and spices (bay leaf, salt and pepper) and puts the "Rouladen", as we call them back into the pan and lets it simmer for 1 1/2 hrs. She makes a gravy from the root vegetables and serves the Rouladen with potato dumplings and red cabbage.

Ahh now I want Rouladen...and it's 7:03am!!!

So today is the last day for bacon huh? Bacon is a good thing... I COULD make some to go with the omelet I'm making for dinner. (must use up eggs in fridge)

ORRRRRRR, I could just take a picture of the bacon wrapped beef thingie I know they have at the Brazilian Steakhouse hubster and I are going to tomorrow. Yeah, that's better...LOL Must eat light today to save room for MEEEEEEAAATTTT!!! mmmm, it's good to be a carnivore.
