Tonight I'm making grilled flank steak that will be marinated in soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic & green onion. Ginger brown rice & sauteed bok choy.

I am roasting a chicken tomorrow, using a lemon butter. Roast potatoes, and veggie sides,..Nothing fancy but my hubby loves it.

Speaking of hubby,..he made some awesaome ribs on the bbq yesterday,..lip smacking I tell ya!!

I have half a sack of potatoes about to go bad:( I hate wasting potatoes as they are good and cheap. But it takes me forever to get through a bag:( Any ideas on how to use the rest up before they go bad? (I already now mashed potatoes and hash browns....any other ideas?

yes get a husband like mine, you can cook him potatoes 24/7, baked, roasted, salad, smashed, he'll eat.

now seriously, just make a madalena:

madalena recipe:

- 1/2 lbs ground beef

- salt, pepper

- 1 chopped onion

- 2 garlic gloves

- grated parmesan cheese

- 1 egg

- 2 tbsp butter

- mashed potato

- 300 ml milk

In a sauce pan, mix butter, garlic and onions. Add mashed potatoes, an egg and milk (also some salt and pepper if u like)

Stir well.

Fry (like on a nonstick frying pan with cooking spray) the ground beef (u can add other stuff to that, like i'd also use some pepper, chives, onions, garlic, olives, etc)

Then on a baking dish (like a 9x13 baking dish) you put all the mashed potato mix and then on top you put the ground beef and some grated parmesan cheese and put in the oven for like 20 min until the cheese melts and gets a bit brownish.

I can't explain very well the recipe, I just suck at explaining baking stuff in english, but u get the idea.

that sounds good actually. I'll try it out. Reminds me of shepherd's pie (well there are different variations of it I think).

Potato bread sounds good too and I've never had it. I think I tried to make it a few years ago and it did not turn out so good. (but then again, thats not saying much about me, lol

And yes if my husband was here, he would be eating potatoes all the time-cooked in arabic dishes and he likes American favorites such as mashed potatoes, friend potatoes. No food would go to wste with him:)

does anybody have a good recipe for cream cheese wontons? they have them at our favourite Chinese buffet place... they are soo yummy...

all the recipes I have found use crab meat... I don't really taste the crab meat in them but maybe there is some in there.. and some recipes call for Worcestershire sauce etc.. to me it just tastes like cream cheese with a few other mild flavours... mmm I want some right now ...lol

I know I'm late, but I cooked some "ratatouille" tonight, so here's my traditional French meal:
