I made ice cream in a bag a few weeks ago .. it was good but you had to eat it right aways which I didn't know.. i figure I could make it and then freeze it.. did not work :P

but i did try a spoonful before i froze it and it was so yummy...

Ice Cream in a bag

1/2 cup milk (you could use half&half, whipping cream or heavy cream too)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1 tablespoon sugar

4 cups crushed ice (I just used cubed ice)

4 tablespoons salt (they say rock salt works best but regular table salt works too)

2 quart sized ziploc bags

1 gallon sized ziploc bag

How to make it:

1. Fill the large bag half full of ice, and add the rock salt. Seal the bag.

2. Put milk, vanilla, and sugar into the small bag, and seal it. It is a good idea to put this bag in another bag before putting it in the larger bag.

3. Place the small bag inside the large one and seal again carefully.

4. Shake until mixture is ice cream, about 5 to 10 minutes.

5. Wipe off top of small bag, then open carefully and enjoy!

*you could add different flavourings or add-ins if you wanted to...

it was decided already on a dish typical from your country or your spouse's country if you're american

Oh, sorry. I didn't know we had settled on that. Ok, sounds good. I wish tamales weren't so darn hard to make.

:secret: Get some Taco Bell, chuck it on a plate and take piccies!!

Thanks! She'll never know.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

I can't do ice cream either. I don't have an ice cream maker. :( So, really, what are we choosing?

:innocent: I don't either... hehe

Yeah, right. I think I'll probably make salsa de puerco or tacos (authentic mexican tacos, not American tacos). I really do wish I could make tamales. Well, I've made them before but they are just too much of a hassle. I may make ceviche or coctel de camaron. Oh noes! I can't decide. Too many choices.:lol:

how about we decide something else besides of only being a typical dish, like if it's dessert or main dish, or if it's cooked, boiled, raw, whatever

I like it too. And it gives us plenty of option when it comes to our home country food.
