i make ground beef patties like that too.. I don't have a set recipe.. a little of this and a little of that

yeah me too. I just go adding spices. Then I put mustard, jalapenos, onions and ketchup on a bun and the hamburger with cheese melted on top, it's delicious. Very light and healthy, great for people on a diet  but I only eat that like once every 3 months, so we're safe, plus is the only real junk food I eat, home made with 96% lean ground beef and fat free cheese.

I don't do meat so won't participate next week.

Don't you eat any meat substitute, like soy something? Maybe you can make that instead.

I am just too lazy to cook...so if take away doesn't count, I can't join this week.

Just buy the patties or a steak, season, add cooking spray to a non stick frying pan and voila. As a side dish you can just microwave something else so you don't have to cook. That won't take you more than 10 minutes.

I found this really good Cuban sandwich hamburger recipe the other day. It didn't really add anything to the meat except salt and pepper but you mixed up this really good mustard sauce. Then you put cheese and ham on top of the patty after you put them on the bun. You wrapped the burgers in foil then put them back on the grill with a brick on top and it smooshed them all together. Oh yeah, you also put pickles on it. They were so good. I might make those again.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

There it is. After looking at the recipe I remembered I made the mustard sauce myself. I didn't have dijon mustard so I just threw some stuff together. It still turned out great.

Cuban Style Burgers

Cuban Style Burgers

Serves: 4

1 lb 80/20 ground chuck,

Salt and freshly ground pepper

½ cup best quality mayonnaise

3 cloves roasted garlic, pureed

¼ cup Dijon mustard

4 soft, classic hamburger buns,

4 slices thinly sliced smoked ham

8 slices thinly sliced Swiss cheese

2 dill pickles, sliced into ¼ inch thick slices

1.Preheat grill to high. Form the meat into four ¼-inch thick burgers. Season the meat with salt and pepper on both sides and grill for 2-3 minutes on both sides for medium doneness.

2. Combine the mayonnaise and roasted garlic in a small bowl and season with salt and pepper to taste. Spread both sides of each bun with mayonnaise and mustard. Place a slice of cheese on the bottom portion of each bun, place the burger on top of the cheese, then top the cheese with a slice of ham then another slice of cheese then the pickle slices. Place the tops of the bun over the pickles, wrap the burgers in aluminum foil and place on the grill. Using a heavy pan or a brick wrapped in foil, press down on the burgers for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Lower the lid on the grill and continue grilling for 1-2 minutes or until cheese has melted and the bun has become pressed and firm.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!
