Nice cupcakes, Illumine :)

Nessarellla, I'd say any kind of pasta is ok. Even if you need your Saturday steak, you can have that and have some spaghetti with it :P (I do that with pork chuletas, just fry them with rosemary and once done, throw the freshly boiled pasta in the frying pan and let it soak up the rosemary meat juices - very yum).

i'd bet you wouldn't get sick. i admit i've done that with meat and fish before on many occasions and was never sick *knocks on wood*

I know someone who did... my uncle ate some frozen/defrozen/frozen/defrozen meat and the week following (yes the entire week) he couldn't move from his bed unless he had to go to the bathroom (and he had to go there a lot). I wouldn't want to eat that chicken either. Though I agree that throwing away an entire chicken would be quite upsetting.

Sorta OT....but I made these yesterday. Vanilla cupcakes + Meyer lemon curd filling + cream cheese frosting. Then my co-workers ate them all up.

I love baking. Now I have extra lemon curd to eat!

they look yummmmy

they look good! I've never eaten cupcakes. definitely something I'll have to try in the USA.

OK for pasta!

I think I'll pass this weekend. Maybe if I can come up with a good lowfat gnocchi recipe. We're going out Sat, which means I'll be eating fatening stuff. I just can't see me making pasta with the huge carb and calories that's in it. Because I won't feel satisfied, I'll need meat with it.

So I guess if I decide to make gnocchi I'll post here, if not I'll skip this week's iron chef.

I might skip it too. Pasta isn't on my list of acceptable foods to eat. I love it but I'm dieting right now. Actually, I hardly ever eat it anyway even when I'm not dieting because it does have so much fat and carbs in it. I'll pick up next week on the next ingredient.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

I'm totally like you. Just the pasta itself is never enough for me. It's just not attractive. I like it only when it has lots of sauce, or lots of cheese, plain pasta is like bleh.

why don't u use only tomato sauce to make the sauce, that'd be fat free, and eat whole grain pasta.. it don't taste bad at all.. or are you cooking penne with fried chickn and bacon or something?!

I know I'm weird, but certain things I rarely cook and when I do I like it to taste really good and I don't wanna worry about being lean. If I cook pasta, I will cook with whatever makes it taste really good, that being fat cheese, or olive oil/garlic/butter, you know what I mean? So I really prefer to make it when I am in one of those phase that I really don't give a flying f*** about calories, carbs, fat, etc.

har har har Pedro. You're so freaking funny!

I'm just not a big pasta fan unless it's got some really good creamy sauce on it or something. I hate, hate, hate spaghetti. I usually do alfredo sauce or something like that. I'll see if I can come up with any low fat recipes. I'm sure there have to be some out there.
