I vote for pasta as well :)

Should the pasta be homemade as well or is it more about what you do with it?

I'd think very few of us have homemade pasta makers. I'd love to have one, but I know I wouldn't use one often enough to justify buying one. I think it would have to be what you do with it.

Excellent - I was not up for the hassle of making pasta

I like going to this wonderful Italian supermarket where they sell the best fresh pasta ever.

Ravoli with poppy seeds, filled with pesto and ricotta; tortelloni filled with parma ham and figs; tortellini with porcini or with truffle...and on and on...just sautee them lightly with fresh sage after boiling them for a few minutes...with mature parmesan cheese...

I love pasta!

OMG yum!!! And please don't make this that nasty parm out of a can. Is that stuff even really cheese? LOL Freshly shaved parm is the only way to go.

I get lovely pastas from this little shop that sells over 100 varieties of olive oil and you can taste any one you want.

I only like the cheap and nasty fake parmesan cheese in combination with Heinz ketchup and spaghetti - I am fully aware that this combination is fully bleah, but I crave it sometimes (usually during PMS). Other than that, I buy good parmesan cheese, usually the real mature one that has been maturing (sp?) for over 30 months. It's so good, it has little cheese crystals inside. *drool*

Edit to say - over 100 different olive oils sounds wonderful. Give me a piece of bread and I am sorted ;)

I think pasta sounds lovely! How about if you want to make it homemade then go for it. I personally have a pasta maker but I will say that if you don't have one they're super expensive like $50 so don't run out and get one. I know you can also get a pasta attachment for a kitchenaid mixer too. We have one but no clue how much it cost because someone bought it for me. Anyways, pasta for all. I kinda wanna make carbonara. Neil won't eat that so I might stick with something easy like bolognese

I have one - a really fancy one that my brother gave me for christmas a few years back. I have used it exactly twice

We were looking at pasta makers at BB&B yesterday - KitchenAid makes an attachment for their mixer - it's $99. We figured we'd never use it. Altho I truly think hubby would. I try not to eat pasta much.

I love pasta, but have had to cut down on the carbs in my old age.

The pasta makers is totally fun and easy to use. I just don't have the time when I can buy the pasta for a couple bucks at Ralphs.
