Is it necessary to submit the original RFE form when responding to the RFE? I ask this because I will be waiting for the NAO2 with my honey in Europe and if we receive an RFE, I will only have access to a scanned copy of it. Will a copy of the RFE be acceptable?

Yes you do need to submit the original form when you get RFE'd. It states that specifically in the letter you receive.

Yes, you have to mail the RFE back to them.

Keep your copies and it will be fine.

I believe so. I got an RFE during this phase of the process and I returned the original along with the corrected information. You don't want them to have to think too much and figure something out. They are Government employees. Be gentle!
