Only 59% of Democratic voters who support Clinton say they would vote for Obama against McCain, while 28% say they would vote for the Republican McCain.

...

Seventy-two percent of those who support Obama for the party's nomination would vote for Clinton against McCain, while 19% would desert and vote for the Republican.

I think it says more about the election system than anything else. First, I don't quite understand why those who are not registered Dems or Reps have any say in who the Dems and Reps want to have as their choice of nominee. I realise that that then leaves non registered voters out in the cold but then again, so what? If the Dems and Reps chose who they wanted as a nominee in a closed forum, wouldn't that leave the path open for more unaffiliated nomineees who would actually stand some chance of getting elected president? That would seem a more democratic system to my uneducated eyes.

You've got to wonder though why Rush Limbaugh then has been telling Republicans to register as Democrats so they can vote for Hillary. It's pretty obvious just which Democrat that the power players of the Republican Party would rather face in the General Election. That's got to count for something.

I think that was true, but since the Rev. Wright thing, it may be shifting. I know many people that are very disgusted by that. These are Dem's and Indy's. Not just our staunch Gop'ers. Obama may be the easier to beat in the end. Rush does want Obama in the end just after he is bloodied up by Hillary. Both the Dem candidates are flawed in major ways. Our candidate is just a little flawed and old is the worst thing.

BTW we didn't get to pick our candidate in the GOP, He was picked by Independents through open primaries. I am not in favor of this.

Closed primaries for each party in all states.

If you don't want to commit to one side or the other you should have to wait until the general election. Why should my nominee be picked by Independents. It feels about the same as the Dem's feel about Operation Chaos. We on the GOP side have had this happen to us on many occasion through the open primary system.

Nah, he's just trying to create chaos anyway he can. If Hillary were ahead he'd be urging Republicans to vote for Obama. The longer these two duke it out, the less money the GOP has to fork out in campaign funds and the more dirt that will come out that they cannot be blamed for.
