I guess it doesn't matter if its a church or civil wedding just make sure you get married within 90 days from the date of her arrival here in the USA. Goodluck on the journey:)

I plan to give Zandy a nice church wedding.. but I am planning a few months after she arrives. She will live with my Mother for a couple of months.. But she's really wanting to be with me as soon as she arrives.

What are some of you guys plans?

to be honest its hard to make a "church wedding" in a tight 90 day period knowing all the preparations and stuff (my cousin has to book 8 months before her wedding just to get the church sked in boston) but if you can pull it off then why not (i always wanted to have a church wedding too)... but coz of the aos and stuff we just sign a piece of paper and send to the uscis in a hurry (we were living out of town for our "honeymoon" per se lol so we need to get married and send the papers right away so there's no more prob when we get back from our trip)... although we always wanted to have a church wedding in phil so my family especially my mom could see me walking in aisle...

Citizenship N-400

4/15/2010- sent my N-400 via fedex overnight

4/16/2010- signed and delivered

4/29/2010- check cleared

Thank you,

That is what I am thinking.. I want and will give her a church wedding.. because it will be her first and only  . Zandy's Mother is already here in the US and she has my word of a church wedding. I just don't see it with in 90 days and Zandy wants to be married (F) So I was just wondering what others are doing..

Actually the NOA2 came about 2 months sooner then expected. I was told back in November that it would be 5-6 months before the NOA2 would possibly arrive.. then another month at the NVC and so on.. since it arrived March 5th.. and with things cruising right along.. I haven't even planned yet.. But, if things go the way it seems.. I will be flying her mid to late May. She is fine with a civil and planning a nice wedding later this summer. So I'm not sure. Money is also a factor.

My then fiance (now husband) and I are both Catholics so we really wanted to be married in a Catholic Church. We're both aware that 90 days will not be sufficient to do all the planning and counseling since one of the church's requirements is a 10-week wedding bann, pre-counseling, etc, etc. What my husband did that time was plan everything even though I wasn't here yet. He asked the Monsignor of the church to waive all the pre-requisites since we're both adults and really knew what we wanted. It took some meeting with church organizers and priests to grant the request. I also had to submit a CENOMAR (certifying that I was single), baptismal certificate (as a proof that I was born Catholic) and 2 testimonies from people who knew me since birth (up to present) that I was born Catholic and was never married. Our requests was granted, they set a date for our wedding and my husband started planning everything and just relying it to me thru phone and letters. I came here July 1, got married July 21 and everything went wonderfully and successfully. We even able to file AOS 5 days after we got married since at that time, the new filing fee was about to take effect on the 31st of July and we wanted to beat it as to not to pay the increased fee.

Having said all these, it will take a lot of planning on your part to be able to pull through a church wedding. We are so lucky that our church understood that circumstances that we were in. That we needed to get married within 90 days period... We told them how important it was for us to get married the Catholic way... and that it would be my first marriage and wanted it to be special.

Maybe you can talk to your church's head of the congregation to make this happen?

Keep it simple. Right now, just keep everything simple. You only have a 90 day window. Be practical people. Once you have your GC, then do a big wedding. Imagine spending so much money on a wedding only to get rejected when you file for an AOS? Here's my thing: before you jump off a plane, check if your parachute works, which means, before you do something huge and expensive, make sure everything is settled. In this case, you have 90 days, you still to file an AOS, then wait, then pray you don't get any RFEs, then GC. Once you have your GC, you'll have the best ever wedding you could possibly imagine because you know everything's safe now.
