My fiance received his packet from the embassy in Senegal, and is currently trying to gather the necessary documents before setting the interview.

I filled out the I-134, got the letter from my employer, and the bank statements, had them notarized and sent them to my fiance. Just last week, I was laid off. He has not yet set the interview date because of some problems getting his passport & birth certificate. He is finally making progress with that, and we think he'll be able to set the interview date soon, and will have the interview (hopefully) within a month.

Do I need to get a co-sponsor now and send my fiance new paperwork? Do I fill out the forms again for myself with the new updated unemployed status? They are correct for the date that they were notarized, but I don't want to risk messing things up by not providing the most up to date information. I am freelancing right now while I look for work, but I don't know if that would be considered stable enough? I'm not sure what I should do at this point.

Thanks for any advice.

Ahh, I'm so sorry you lost your job! This is tricky -- are you getting unemployment benefits? Maybe you could write a letter (or get a letter from Unemployment) stating when you lost your job on whatever date and submit that with the affidavit your sent your fiance (so they know you really HAD a job when you did the petition and as recently as a few weeks ago, you were making enough money to support your fiance) and then get a co-sponsor or two and have them fill out their own affidavits of support and send them to your love ASAP! :) Good luck!
