Good morning all.

Hubby wants to send in the request for his trancripts from now so that we can have them waiting for when that time comes.

When filling out the 4506-T we are not sure which boxes to tick for the info we need for the I-864.

Also, he is not going to be filing for 2007 until he gets back from Iraq, so should we check the item that says "Verification of nonfiling" and will they just send that for the year he didn't file but send the transcripts for the 2 previous years?

It's a bit confusing.

Can anyone offer some advice? Thank you.

NATURALIZATION
07-03-2013: Eligible to file
07-22-2013: Application sent (Delivered: 07-24-13)
08-05-2013: NOA1 received (Priority date: 07-24-13, Check cashed: 07-29-13)
08-22-2013: Biometrics (Received: 08-06-13, Walk-in: 08-08-13)
09-03-2013: Inline for interview (Yellow letter received: 10-23-13)
11-04-2013: Interview scheduled (Received: 11-09-13)
12-12-2013: Interview (Approved)
01-03-2014: Oath ceremony, passport application and passport received

Good morning all.

Why don't you'all just call the IRS and talk to someone? That is your best bet on getting the info you are asking. You can also request the tax transcripts over the phone. Since he is in Iraq, can you get his SS# and call the IRS 800 # and request it if he can't? They usually send it within the week. I got mine in 5 days.

Does the verification for nonfiling mean he hasn't filed yet (for something that isn't even due yet) or that he isn't filing for that year at all?

I agree with Claire.....I think it best to call.

Thanks guys....I think I will call because I can't even answer the question about the verification of non-filing.

We have to send in the form because he wants the transcript sent to me and I can't do that over the phone and he can't call.

You need the "return transcript" (box A). I'm assuming your just requesting for a 1040, right?

If you need a verification of nonfiling for 2007, then I believe you'll have to fill out a separate 4506-T just for 2007 then.
