No the problem is - I' just booked my flight to Canada and I still have no extension letter... should I make an info pass to get a stamp on the same day or should I wait.. it's 3 hours drive to Charlott so... I wish I dont have to drive 2 times...

:goofy: Ok, here are my questions: When does your GC expire and when are you traveling? Are you flying out of Charlotte and that is why you asked should you drive twice? What time is your flight? I guess if I were you and my GC expired before my trip I would go ahead and make my Infopass for that day with plenty, plenty, plenty of time to get to the airport. Can you drive to Charlotte the night before, stay in a hotel, and have the first appointment for your Infopass? I think I would make it ASAP and you can always cancel. I don't think they let you book an appointment though any more than two weeks out and I forgot when you said you were traveling. :goofy:

I'll be flying out from RDU (Durham/Raleigh) on May 15 and my GC expire May 9... I mean driving to Charlotte 2 times becasue one for bio and one for info pass to get stamp.. I hope they understand that it'll take me about 3 hours to drive there and i'll lose my work day and let me have info pass the same day as my bio (April 23) so I can take only one day off.

OR hopefully we will get our extension letter next week!!!

:goofy: Anya - do you know for sure the biometrics office is the same location as the Infopass office? When we lived in Birmingham during AOS, our biometrics was actually in Birmingham but for Infopass we had to go to Atlanta. We are now in Tampa and we have both here but they are at different places in Tampa - one right outside Tampa and the other sort of near the airport. Have you checked the Infopass site to make sure the address of the Infopass? If they are the same I would go ahead TODAY and make that April 23rd appointment. :goofy:

I'm in the same boat Anya, and I have booked the appointment, if the NOA comes

before then I can just cancel. My Greencard expires while I am in Australia, so

I definitely want the stamp.

Way to go, Anya! Yes, I wouldn't presume on the NOA extension letter coming any time soon given the current evidence, and would make an infopass appointment. If you explain why you would like to have the appointment on the same day, maybe they will accommodate you Other options might be having it late the day before or early the day after and staying overnight instead of repeating the drive. Not a great solution, but possible.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Hi everybody!

So, here it is ... my wife attempted several times to get any information from USCIS regarding my case ... but they refused to give it to her since she is just the petitioner, so we had to wait until I came home from work to try again. After a long wait on the phone, we finally got some information and my tracking number. As it turns out, I got transferred to Vermont as well (I updated my timeline), and of course, I was supposed to receive a notice about it, which, of course, I never received.

But anyway, at least I know whats going on now and made an Infopass appointment for the 25th of April in Louisville in order to get my passport stamped. I will keep you guys posted!

Marcel

Thanks for adding me. From the looks of all the timelines we will be having to drive to Atlanta for an infopass appointment. That sucks! I'll have to take off work and it's a 3 1/2 hour drive. It wouldn't help to wait for biometrics since last time that was in Charleston.

It's looking like the odds of getting transferred are about 50/50. It would be interesting to see if they are doing it based on where a person is located, but I doubt it because a friend of mine got transferred and they're in Florida. It makes me curious what the criteria actually is for a transfer.

Have any of you ever looked online at government jobs? I did a few weeks ago and they had about 125 jobs posted for immigration office workers accross the US. What really sucks was that they aren't paying very good. I honestly don't know how they expect to fill the jobs when they are high stress and they aren't offering a decent wage. It sure made me more patient with the people we have to deal with knowing that they aren't very well paid and they are way overworked.

Last time we went in for info pass it was in the same place for the interview but the biometric was in a different location but it's still in Charlotte (just like 10 mins drive) so it'll make a lot more sense to drive to Charlotts once and get everything done.. I think i'll call and make an infopass tomorrow... and hope they understand the situation...

I want to make an infopass... went to www.infopass.uscis.gov and there's no option for me (or may be I just dont know what to choose) and call the service center and never got to speak to a person.. or may be i press the wrong choice again.. so... anybody know how to make an infopass to get an extension stamp?

ok now.. I need some help..

I want to make an infopass... went to www.infopass.uscis.gov and there's no option for me (or may be I just dont know what to choose) and call the service center and never got to speak to a person.. or may be i press the wrong choice again.. so... anybody know how to make an infopass to get an extension stamp?

Thanks!

Select the option "You are a new Permanent Resident and have not yet received your Permanent Resident Card" -- that will get you the appointment for the stamp. It may sound a little off (b/c you do have your conditional card), but it's the right one.

Meh
