I just dropped Luz off for her first full day of work. The last two days were only half days for training. She woke me up at 6am and I lingered in bed until 6:30 while she got ready. It was funny to watch her rush around while I had my coffee making her make-up just so and worrying about how she looked. I said "your just going to work in a factory, no one will care what you look like". But of course Luz is going to want to look her best, I guess thats the difference between men and women. I know if I put on a work shirt with a stain on it she gets after me and says it makes her look bad if I go to work looking less than perfect. Never mind that 30 minutes after I get there I am covered in oil and grease anyway. :P

I feel like a parent sending a child off for the first day of school. Very weird feeling. I was initially opposed to Luz working, partially out of selfishness on my part, partially out of pride. But I realized this is something she really wanted to do, so because I only want her happy I changed my mind. She is so excited about working. She tells me all about the people she met, how she is learning how to run her machine and how different it is from PI. She keeps telling me how she will treat me to special things when she starts getting her paychecks. I realize now just how much this means to her. Seeing her happy is a great feeling. What a wonderful little lady I have. God has blessed me.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
