If I had my pick of any car right now, I'd actually like to have a Smart ForTwo.

Now I realize we are talking absolutely NO POWER.

But they're cute!

 Not true! Did you ever get a chance to drive one? In the higher horsepower range they are quite perky! Even the small engines are plenty good enough for the 65 mph limited highways!

I would be more concerned about all the monster SUVs and pickups running me over in one of them....

Oh no, I've never driven one. Would love too! I did see a video from the Today Show where Lester said driving one on the interstate wasn't bad.

There is one here is our town. It's silver and it's supposed to be the first one registered to an individual in our state.

We looked at Escorts and Mazdas so far.

My little Beryl corners like she's on rails and is a great little motor.

She's an Escort ZX2.

Luz I am so happy for you, I bet you are loving the getting out and working. I can't wait, been a while for sure. Before you know it you will have a car that you can drive to your hearts content and chauffer Gary around in if he behaves himself. Hope your day was great today

Thank you! I'm so loving to get out, new experience, meet new people , make friends and learned something. I loved being a wifey, Robin's mom, fur-mommy :P but staying at home all day and wait for them makes me bored sometimes..I have a perfect schedule and I still can take care the house while I am learning out there. :) and also I wanna treat my hubby and give him some surprises with my own earning..it sounds silly when we have special occasion and I wanna give him something I have to get it from him..it didn't sounds right ..its like '' hubby I wanna buy gift for you give me money..''hahahaha :P

Life is good, thanks GOD.. :luv:

Thanks for the goodluck guys!!!

Woot!! Thanks for all the kind wishes peeps!! You all rock!!! :luv:

My 1st day training is all good..people and workers are very helpful and supportive , the work area is clean and safe and big!!! and it amazes me how they are very organize and all the safety tools and things needed are well provided. One more thing, when they told me about 10 minutes break time they show me the canteen and told me what they all have.. there is a lot of snacks, coffee juice . cereals, vegetables salads and fruits..lots of fruits..I ask how much and he laugh at me , he said everything is free( but soda in vending machine)..wow..in the Philippines you have to pay for everything! I have a fruits fiesta lol!

There are 2 other Filipina working there..everybody is very friendly! Two woman there said I am cute with my all pink get up. ( from my cap , shirt to shoes) Other lady there like my pink doggy handbag. :P

Gary pick me up and we have a short driving lesson on way back home..I don't think I like the idea of him teaching me..I am not comfortable..he is a patient loving husband but I am so conscious with his 'Stang.. instead of me using the brake when he wants me to stop I step hard in accelerator and zzzzzzzooooooommmm!!! :crying: I giving my dear husband a heart attack :( ...I feel like he wanna wring my neck.. :D ..but I know he is not esp I point my lips to kiss him.. :P and teaching me gives him an excuse to smoke..he said he is stress!! He is back to smoking habit again.. :crying:

is your driving that bad?

:bonk:

Gears are an inherent part of the whole 'sports car' experience for me, you get to rev the engine and choose when to change gears, it's always good when the engine is screaming at you! What's the point of having a throaty roar if all you allow it to do is purr?

If it's pure speed you are after the luxury sedans offer that with added comfort too.

Yes, I am old fashioned and just prefer stick shift.

A lot of modern sports (-ish) cars have paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel

which you can use to quickly upshift and downshift without a clutch.

Porsche calls it Tiptronic transmission, BMW - Steptronic, but the idea is the same -

you can override the automatic mode by making the shifting decisions yourself.

Mags, Beryl is very cute, but.......why do you need a car if you don't have a driving licence?

I'm British, 34 and I don't have a license. Lived in London for years, always used the tube or buses, didn't need a license. Am learning here though as we live in the middle of nowhere.

Usual reaction is "huh?" when I say I don't drive.
